AADE is sending new warning emails to taxpayers about electronic fraud with tax refunds. In its message, AADE states that the malicious actions of misleading e-mail continue, with falsification of logos of the Unified Digital Portal gov.gr, which state that the Tax Office informs you that you are entitled to a tax refund and urge you "to click to submit a refund request".
"Dear Madam/Dear Sir,
Please note that the malicious actions of misleading e-mail continue, with falsification of logos of the Unified Digital Portal gov.gr, which state that the Tax Office informs you that you are entitled to a tax refund and urge you to "click to submit a refund request".
We again draw your special attention, as this is an attempt to deceive through image and information falsification.
For your protection:
1 DO NOT select any suggested link
2 DO NOT open any attachments in the message
3 Delete the message IMMEDIATELY as it is fake and contains malicious content.
Characteristic of the attempted deception is the variation of the messages and, in some cases, obvious errors in the use of the Greek language.
Also, in cases of email fraud, while the message appears to be sent by a government agency (e.g. @aade.gr or @gov.gr), the real sender is an unknown email address, usually abroad.
We recommend that you exercise caution and check very carefully any similar misleading messages or sms that you may receive in the future.”
